Service: Ask a doctor is an asynchronous, doctor-reviewed information and guidance service. It does not provide a prescription, emergency care or guaranteed diagnosis. Recommendations may require in-person examination.
Medical emergencies: Do not use this service for urgent or life-threatening symptoms. Seek your local emergency provider instead.
Data collected: Your WhatsApp number, WhatsApp messaging consent and opt-out records, location country, age, relevant biological/reproductive history, medical complaint, optional attachments, clarification answers, doctor-directed draft revision records, transaction references and technical security logs.
WhatsApp notification: With separate permission, we send a doctor-answer-ready template through Gupshup. It contains an access link rather than clinical details. WhatsApp/Gupshup will process your phone number and delivery information; replying STOP blocks future messages. The person who controls the WhatsApp number can receive the private link.
AI assistance: Your submitted health information may be processed by third-party AI model providers to structure clarification questions and prepare a doctor-review draft. Approved doctor-requested changes may be retained in protected internal quality-improvement logs; identifiable clinical data will not be used to train models without appropriate consent and safeguards. Never upload unnecessary identifiers. AI does not independently approve the answer.
Delivery and payments: We send answer-ready WhatsApp template notifications only with the separate opt-in above. Payment details are processed by Razorpay, and we store limited transaction references rather than card credentials.
Retention and rights: This is a prototype. A production service must publish its legal operator, contact details, applicable retention and deletion schedule, international transfers and rights-request process. Do not use it for real patient data before those are configured and legally reviewed.
Consent: By ticking the box, you acknowledge and agree to processing for case handling and delivery, and understand the limitations of asynchronous guidance.
